Le Chat Noir is back
The Museum of Ixelles offers an afternoon of entertainment in the spirit of the famous Le Chat Noir cabaret café in Paris. Immerse yourself in the Belle Époque atmosphere with guided tours of the exhibition, poetry and musical show, face painting, children’s drawing competition and mini-bazaar for all you cool cats!

Every Sunday, guides with an expertise in Art History welcome you.
Guides are available to describe one or two art works from your choice. They are happy to adapt their explanations to the expectations of their visitors of all ages (EN-FR-DU).
PLAYFUL ACTIVITY BOOKS at the Museum of Ixelles
- For the exhibition ALBERTO MAGNELLI: En formes et en couleurs avec Alberto (FR–DU)
A book especially for the Magnelli exhibition is available at reception.
Duration: 45 min. up to an hour.
Price: the activity book is free and available at the reception desk (until the 26th may 2013).
For children aged 7 to 12 years old
- All around the permanent art collections: Is there a hero in the museum?
Heroes are hidden in the permanent art collections of the Museum of Ixelles. Go and meet them. Discover the hero inside of you!
All heroes who complete their mission will receive a surprise present at the reception desk.
Duration: 45 min. up to an hour.
Price: the activity book is free and available at the reception desk (until the 26th may 2013).
For children aged 7 to 12 years old.
- All around the exhibition CHAT NOIR: Nuit chanoiresque avec Louis (starting the 27th of June)
Make your family visit to the museum even more fun with the activity books around the exhibition CHAT NOIR. It’s full of games and amusing facts. The booklets are accessible at the museum reception.
Duration: 45 min. tot 1 hour.
For children between 7 and 12 year, in company of an adult. (FR-NL)
The booklets are connected to the search of treasures of VLIEG. Go and look for the two treasures in the Museum of Ixelles and the library Sans Souci and receive an extra surprise!

CHAT NOIR
One Sunday per month during an exhibition period, an artist invites you to discover works in an original way.
For adults and children alike, from 6 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Duration of activity: from 20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on personal requirements. (FR-NL-EN)
Accessible with your entry ticket, subject to availability.

Discover the museum’s permanent collection through a new point of view. Your guides? Two dancers/performers who will bring artworks to life and captivate you in a storm of colours and images.
